Fiske Human Factors Engineering (FHFE) Ltd was engaged to help us fulfil our contractual responsibility to implement a robust and integrated Human Factors Engineering (HFE) methodology for the design of Whitechapel Station as part of the Crossrail programme.
Our client, BBMV, selected Fiske HFE Ltd due to its broad experience base of capital investment projects in high hazard industries and specific engineering experience in station design. They provided a pragmatic approach to integrating HFE into the design development process based around multi-discipline engagement, workshop execution and issues / risk management.
The value they provided was seen in their integrated approach and the early identification of potential design issues. These issues related to the compliance, operation and maintenance of the station and public safety.

Fiske Human Factors Engineering (Fiske HFE) Limited was engaged to manage and implement our Client’s (TCO) Safety in Designs (SID) requirements across the WPMP project undertaking all necessary HFE training, requirements management, HFE design and integration activities. Fiske HFE Ltd was selected due to its experience on complex capital investment projects.
Fiske HFE provided a pragmatic approach to integrating SID into the design development process; their value being realized through their application of HFE integration processes, issues and requirements management and multi-discipline approach to systems development.
Fiske HFE delivered SID training to over 800 project personnel across three international design offices, participated in a multitude of design development reviews including 3D model reviews, desk top reviews and Vendor package reviews / inspections.
The Project required the management of complex interfaces both internal and external to the project, establishing and managing relationships between Management, Engineering, Operations, Vendors and international offices.
